Saguaro Romance Writers, Remembering Barbara Lantz
June 24, 2008
She was the Chapter founder. Her memorial service was held in Tucson Saturday morning June 24th, 2008.
Barbara will be missed. She is the reason the chapter exists. We always said, do not let that grandmotherly face fool you. She will have you doing something soon.
I know she is up there somewhere organizing the spiritworld. She is looking down tapping people on the shoulder and saying “I have a job for you.”
Instead of being completely sad, it was also a celebration of her life and very motivational.
A Cat Typing?!

Click on Palin’s.
This is a thread from there. One of my friends came up with the idea of Yerbie joining the site and typing. You can see what he might type. Who knows WHAT he will grow up to be!
Dr. Ben Carson, Take the Risk.
June 17, 2008
I have heard of Dr. Benjamin Carson before. I purchased his book, Take the Risk. People can learn there is what is called “Acceptable Risk.” Well I am not going to give the store away, just read the book.
I thought about this because of an article in this week’s U.S. News and World Report about teaching military history and many liberal American professors frown on it.
It never stopped being a part of our history. I know many do not want fighting mentioned and in schools the bully AND the victim get in trouble.
I would punish my son for starting a fight, not for finishing it. You need to be able to defend yourself if the need arises. That goes all the way up to the national level. There are still some pretty rotten people out there.
Frank Vincent, A Man’s Man.
June 17, 2008
Frank Vincent, is an actor, musician, and writer (if you watch the Sopranos, you know who he is). I bought his book, A Guy’s Guide to Being a Man’s Man.
It has nothing to do with being the toughest guy on the block but the one with the most charisma and class. You are still expected to treat people decently.
I don’t need the chapter on dating, but smoking a cigar with class would help.
An easy, fun read.

Gate Openers and Python
June 11, 2008
Two Python routines come to mind. Both involve John Cleese heavily.
When he is the police trainer.
Have we done SL575’s? Yes and 585’s and 595’s. 3000’s. We haven’t done 3000’s, have we?
Then comes gate safety. John Cleese as the architect. The gate closes in, squishing the tenants. The last twenty feet of the corridor are soundproof. Oh, I had not ascertained your attitude toward the tenants.
Then there is Michael Palin trying to kill the small dogs in A Fish Called Wanda. Poor Mr. Weinstein is squished in the gate, but Mrs. Weinstein’s beloved Fifi is just fine.
That is the story of Gates according to Python.
A Marriage Made in Python Hell LOL!
June 8, 2008
My wife and I are both major Python fans. She is enjoying these postings because it has ruined her life as well as mine.
It is unnerving when you go out to dinner with a group and all the people who know Python are using the phrases from it and all the Non Pythonites think we are speaking a strange language with a code.
I am trying to imagine a Python wedding ceremony, but not having much luck. Let me sleep on that.

I am lucky to know her. She is in the Romance Writers Chapter my wife and I belong to, Saguaro Romance Writers.
She had a book signing at the Borders on North Oracle Road (Arizona Route 77).

Yerbie Needed Lots of Attention Today
June 8, 2008
He hates it when he does something clumsy. He jumped missed ended up landing on a plastic bag that scared him.
My little buddy had a rough morning.
